/historical documents & recent declarations
Note 1: The documents here in blue have been selected on the basis of their support for coexistence in one-state (we include even the 'Balfour Declaration' in this category in that it called for a Jewish homeland within Palestine which would not prejudice the rights of the existing population in the country). Other selected documents shown in red, supporting partition or the two-state solution, have been included below for historical record.
Note 2: We do not agree with everything written in these documents. The 'McDonald White Paper' recommends the establishment of "a State in which the two peoples in Palestine, Arabs and Jews, share authority in government". However, another object of this paper is to be lamented, the restriction of immigration to Palestine at the time when Jewish refugees were fleeing Nazi persecution. This coincided with many European countries closing their borders to Jewish refugees in the Second World War.
